3 Tips For Fall Pool Maintenance

As summer comes to an end, it is time for us to start closing our pools. However, once our pools close that doesn’t mean we stop taking care of them. Fall pool maintenance is a priority, especially since our pools need to be ready for snowfall. So, let’s go over 3 tips you can use this fall to keep your pool in tip-top condition.

Clean It

After a summer of fun, you want to make sure you give your pool a deep clean. Make sure that the filters are not clogged and that there is no surrounding debris or leaves in the pool. If dirt or debris is left in your pool, it can produce bacteria and algae, or possibly stain the liner. So, make sure you clean your pool before you close it for the winter.

Make Sure The Water’s Balanced

Unbalanced water can lead to many issues for your pool. You could end up with cloudy water, algae growth, or even slime. So, you need to make sure that the water is balanced, even though the pool may not be being used. Keep your eyes on the chemical balance and make sure you shock the pool if necessary.

Calibrate The Heater

If you are planning on keeping your pool open for a bit throughout the fall, then this step is important for you. You do not want your energy consumption, and the costs that go with it, to go up while you aren’t using your pool as frequently. So, to keep them low, make sure you calibrate the heater. This will ensure you still have a warm pool until it’s closed and your costs will stay low!
